New Delhi: The highly anticipated movie of Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Fan’ did not stand to the test of time at the box office. What looked like a promising collection just did not end well towards the end of the first week.

Maneesh Sharma’s directorial ‘FAN’ earned only Rs 79.25 crores in ten days in India. Abroad the film earned Rs 66 crores. The movie is crawling towards the 100 crore in India mark and it is unlikely that it will achieve it.

However, to save their face, the producer of the movie, Yash Raj Films has come up with a solution to recover the cost. YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra and his team turned to small screen when the silver screen failed them.

Apparently, YRF has sold the satellite rights of the film to Sony Entertainment Television for a whopping Rs 55 cr. This might help ‘FAN’ come see better days.

FAN was roughly made on a budget of 105 crores, so these box office collections definitely make it a flop. The satellite rights might recover some money.

While FAN opened to average to good reviews, Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom could not row its boat at the box office. ‘FAN’ is the story of a superstar Aryan Khanna and his look alike fan Gaurav Chandna. SRK went through a lot of ordeal to perfect his role of Gaurav, a Delhi based boy.
