Today marks the 44th birthday of renowned singer Shantanu Mukherjee, popularly known as Shaan. The singer has been well acclaimed for his young and mesmerising voice.
He has been ruling a million of hearts since he made his debut in B-town as a playback singer at the age of 17. His first song ‘Kitni hai pyari pyari dosti hamari' was from Anil Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit starrer 1989 release ‘Parinda’.
Shan came up with his first solo album ‘Naujawaan’ in the year 1996 for which he won rave reviews from the audience. Since then there has been no looking back for him, and he has successfully carved a niche for himself in the industry.
He became a singing sensation after he released a remix version of legendary singer RD Burman’s hit track ‘Roop Tera Mastana’, which was followed by his music albums like ‘Tanha Dil’, ‘Aksar’ etc. In fact, Shan even won MTV Asia Music Award 2000 for his album ‘Tanha Dil’.
He was later seen as a host on Zee TV’s popular singing based reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ from 2000-2006 along with several other singing shows as well.
In his career of around 27 years, Shaan has lent his voice to several leading stars like Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and several others.
Known as one of the most versatile singers, Shaan has also won accolades for his singing for Kannada, Telgu, Tamil, Bengali and Nepali movies as well.
