Actress Deepika Padukone, who will next be seen in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ yesterday visited Rishikesh and performed Ganga Aarti along with her mother Ujjala Padukone.
The crowd went crazy when they spotted the actress in simple avatar performing aarti. It seems that even after becoming a global star, Deepika is still connected to her roots.
Away from the glamour world, the dimpled beauty offered prayers with her mother.
Swami Chidananda Saraswati, who heads the ashram, gifted her a Rudraksha sapling and said if the saints, singers and actors worked together for cleanliness of Ganga, the mission will easily achieve its objective.
Deepika can be seen at the Aarti, and she also offered prayers.
The lady was lately seen in ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ alongside Vin Diesel. The movie marked her Hollywood debut. She will be sharing screen space with actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in period drama ‘Padmavati’. The actress will play the protagonist in the film.
