Last year, Geeta Phogat’s biopic Dangal touched new zeniths at Chinese box office and this year, Zaira Wasim and Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar continues to cast its spell in China. Secret Superstar' has made waves at the China Box Office as the film has managed to rake in a whopping Rs. 174 crore in just three days.
After the phenomenal success of his films like '3 Idiots', 'PK' and 'Dangal', Aamir's latest release is also receiving tremendous response from the nation. The Zaira Wasim-starrer, which released in the country on Friday, grossed USD 27.22 (Rs. 174.10 cr) million in its opening weekend.
Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#SecretSuperstar packs a SOLID PUNCH in its opening weekend in China... Close to ₹ 175 cr in 3 days... MIND-BOGGLING indeed...Fri $ 6.88 mn, Sat $ 10.50 mn, Sun $ 9.84 mn, Total : $ 27.22 million [₹ 174.10 cr]"
Also, the film bagged maximum number of nominations at the 63rd Jio Filmfare Awards 2018. Actress Zaira Wasim bagged the award under Critics' Award for Best Actor (Female), while Meher Vij took home the black lady for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female). Also, Meghna Mishra won the Best Playback Singer (Female) for Nachdi Phira.
Directed by Advait Chandan, 'Secret Superstar' features Zaira Wasim in the lead role and the 'Thugs of Hindostan' star in an extended cameo.
