Sanju leaked online hours after release, Ranbir Kapoor fans condemn piracy
Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju released across India on over 4,000 screens making it the second biggest film of the year after Race 3. Above this, the hullabaloo around the film and the rave reviews are adding to the grandeur of this Bollywood film. Just few hours later, the entire film leaked online, becoming the latest victim to online piracy. Many social media users shared the screenshots online with the link leading to a torrent. A Twitter user also claims that an HD print of the film has been leaked. This major breach at an early stage of release might affect the business greatly.
As soon as the news of Sanju getting leaked online broke out, Ranbir Kapoor’s dedicated fans urged the responsible cinema lovers to discourage privacy and watch the film only after buying the tickets in theatres. One of the RK fans wrote, “#SanjuLeaked… Don’t Share Its Torrent Links Guys. Say No To Piracy.”
While condemning CBFC’s decision to axe the toilet scene from the movie, another user wrote, “CBFC has objection over the Toilet leakage scene in #Sanju but no one actually has the problem when the movie is leaked…WHY !?!”
Some of the patrons of Ranbir Kapoor also claimed that Salman Khan fans are just spreading the rumours of Sanju being leaked.
Sanju is not the only film which fell prey to the online piracy. Earlier, Rajinikanth’s Kaala was leaked online by piracy website Tamilrockers within a day of its release. Many ardent Rajini fans slammed the website for encouraging piracy.
Talking about the film’s opening business, Sanju is expected to bring some record-breaking numbers. Going by the footfall in theatres, it is expected to earn around Rs 30 crore on its first day itself. The BO numbers will most likely cross Rs 100 crore in three days.
