Sanju new poster feauturing Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who has wowed everyone with his uncanny resemblance to Sanjay Dutt for his upcoming film Sanju, is set to blow your mind with the film’s new poster. In the new poster released today, Ranbir has recreated Sanjay Dutt’s jail time look, and we must say he looks like a splitting image of the Munna Bhai actor.

Director Rajkumar Hirani took to social media and shared Sanju new poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor. “I met #Sanju in Jail in 2013. Recreation of how he looked then. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi”, be captioned the poster.

Sanju is an ambitious project of Rajkumar Hirani with Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role. The actor built muscles for the role and his beefed-up look already went viral on social media. The movie has an ensemble star cast comprising Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal, Karishma Tanna, Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. While Manisha is playing Dutt's mother Nargis in the movie, Dia will be seen as Maanayat Dutt. Reportedly, Anushka will play a journalist in the Dutt's biopic.

In a recent interview, Ranbir said that the fanboy in him was scared to play his icon on screen in Sanjay Dutt's biopic "Sanju" but he could not let go of the opportunity as it was a screenplay that was "sent from heaven".

The actor said it was not an "acting gig" for him but something personal as it gave him the opportunity to be a part of the story of someone he admires.  "I was always a Sanjay Dutt fan. So for me, it was like a fan trying to play his icon on-screen. The hardest thing was to give confidence to myself that I can play this man... I did not have the confidence, the courage, understanding or the acting chops to do it," Ranbir told reporters at the teaser launch of the film in Mumbai.

Sanju is slated to hit cinemas on June 29, 2018.
