Now, the first day international box-office collection of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is out. Padmaavat has scared a huge win on a worldwide level. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle and said, “#Padmaavat takes a FANTABULOUS START in key international markets on Thu...AUSTRALIA: A$ 367,984 [₹ 1.88 cr] NEW ZEALAND: NZ$ 64,265 [₹ 29.99 lakhs] UK [preview screenings]: £ 97,604 [₹ 88.08 lakhs]”.

In another post, Taran was all praise for the period drama Padmaavat. “#OneWordReview...#Padmaavat: O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G.It's a MASTERPIECE. Rating: 4 and half”, he tweeted.

In Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone plays Rani Padmini, Ranveer Singh is seen as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor plays Maharawal Ratan Singh. It also has Raza Murad, Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari in important roles. After the special screening of the film, the celebrities as well the audience couldn’t stop praising Ranveer Singh’s monstrous performance as the cruel and villainous Khilji.

Recently, noted writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar spoke about the film and said, "I saw the film and I feel it is among the most accomplished achievements I've seen in Indian cinema in recent times. I fail to understand what the protesters are protesting against”.

"The film is a passionate unadulterated homage to the valour and integrity of the Rajput community. Not a word, not a frame in the film is an insult to the community. In fact it is insulting to the film to suggest that it in any way insults the very community it honours," he added.

Padmaavat was earlier scheduled to clash with Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man but after Bhansali’s request the actor pushed the release date. Pad Man will now hit the screens on February 9 and will fight the box office battle with Sidharth Malhotra starrer Aiyaary.
