It’s the union of the Bollywood biggies! Superstar Salman Khan and director Rohit Shetty are collaborating for a cop drama, which is untitled as of now. The film will reportedly hit the cinemas on Christmas 2020. After wrapping up Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat and the third installment of Dabangg, Salman Khan will start prepping up for Rohit Shetty’s film by 2019, according to a Mumbai Mirror report.
“Rohit and Sajid have met a couple of times to not just discuss the possibilities of collaborating on a film with Salman in the lead but also on the content. Among the many ideas they have discussed, one is a spin-off to the character of Devi Lal Singh aka DEVIL from Kick, Sajid’s successful directorial debut. The 2014 film had an open ending with Salman’s character donning the khaki uniform. If the idea materializes as planned, it could be the take-off for Rohit’s film,” a source was quoted as saying to the daily.
Currently, Salman Khan is all geared up for his Eid release Bharat, also starring Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The Bharat teaser hit the internet recently and, caused much buzz all around. In case, you missed it watch it here.
Meanwhile, when it comes to directors, Rohit Shetty has come out as the new hit machine of Bollywood. The filmmaker who is expert in making masala entertainer films has successfully delivered 8 Bollywood films that have hit the Rs 100 crore mark. With Simmba’s success, Shetty becomes the first Bollywood director to achieve this feat.
Rohit Shetty has Sooryavanshi in his pipeline, which will be Akshay Kumar’s first collaboration with the director.
