What makes Salman, Sunny most searched on Google in past decade?

New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan and actress Sunny Leone are the most searched male and female celebrities, respectively, on Google in India, over the past decade. The tech giant made this announcement through a press release on Friday.

Following Salman, in the male celeb list, is his friend Shah Rukh Khan. Khiladi Akshay Kumar comes third on the list of actors, succeeded by star of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan. Superstar Rajinikanth, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan and Emraan Hashmi come next in the list in the respective order.

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan comes second on the list of female celebs, led by Sunny Leone . Katrina Kaif bagged the third position. The remaining spots are filled by Kajal Agarwal, Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Tamannah Bhatia, Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha.

Being on the top is a clear indication of the popularity that Salman and Sunny enjoy.

In a country obsessed with movies, Salman is no less than a religion. His movies are watched multiple times, his style works as a magnet which attracts viewers to the theatres resulting in record breaking box office collections.

Earlier this week, Forbes’ released a list of top 100 earning celebrities around the world and Salman was nowhere to be seen. This list by Google tells that though he might be having bank balance like SRK (who was on 86th on the Forbes list) and Akshay (who occupied 94th position); but Salman’s fan following can not be challenged. He might be controversy’s favourite child but seems almost everyone wants to know every single detail about him.

On the same lines of Salman’s fan following is the way once adult star Sunny Leone. She has developed a niche for herself in Bollywood. Many movies ride on the sole name of Sunny, and it is her siren personality that brings fans to movies. But it is not only because of her movies that she has an immense popularity. Though she has long ago shed her ‘adult star’ tag but a major portion of Sunny’s search on Google has to do with it.

Controversies or no, adult movies or comedy, this Google list confirms that it will be a long time before someone displaces Salman and Sunny from their positions.
