New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan’s next release has got viewers exhilarated. The trailer of ‘Sultan’ certifies that the film is packed with punches and paunches. It has every ingredient for a blockbuster be it memorable dialogues, foot tapping background music, drama, romance, tears and laughter.
While we can understand the anxiety surrounding this film will not ease before Eid; we tell you something which we learnt from the film’s trailer; something which may have gone unnoticed and needs to be called out.
‘Sultan’ has striking resemblance to Shah Rukh Khan’s 2007 release, ‘Chak De! India’. If you are thinking that it is the fact that both are sports oriented films and belong to Yash Raj banner; then you are mistaken.
The similarity runs deep and stops at ‘fight for redemption’. Sultan is being touted as the fight for redemption of a wrestler who was at a height of his career and it is his journey to emerge a winner again. This is something which Shah Rukh did in ‘Chak De! India’. In the Shimit Amin directorial, Shah Rukh Khan was a hockey team captain who was labelled a traitor. Years later, when he got a chance to erase that stigma from his forehead, he became the coach of the women’s hockey team and helped them win the World Cup.

Now, if you have a closer look at the trailer which gives away the plot of ‘Sultan’ to an extent; you will see Salman Khan who is a gold medallist at Olympics is forced to give away his favourite sport; only to try his hand at MMA years later.
It was fight for redemption in ‘Chak De! India’ as well.
