Back then, when fitness wasn’t that much a rage, Salman Khan popularised the notion of fitness in Bollywood. The Bollywood Bhaijaan is living proof that age is just a number. He recently celebrated his 52nd birthday clubbing it with the celebration party for the overwhelming success of his film Tiger Zinda Hai, which starred Katrina Kaif as his leading lady.

Salman Khan, a renowned fitness freak, may have turned a year older in December but that age hasn't been able to dampen his physical prowess which is evident in the action sequences he pulled off in his recent release, Tiger Zinda Hai. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, TZH that is a sequel to 2012 super hit movie Ek Tha Tiger has by far crossed Rs 300 crore mark at the box office.

In an interview with a leading daily, Salman Khan compares his body to a diesel engine that doesn't tire when kicked into gear. "I can't do handstands, or put my body upside down. But, apart from that, I can easily pull off quick movements, like forward and back somersault, or floor rolls. My body is like a diesel engine, ek baar garam ho gaya toh chalta rahega," Khan added.

Though, the audience loved Salman in a string of romantic flicks in the recent years, the actor says, the roles were less demanding on his body and he was getting lethargic. So, he decided to pack in a punch for reel. “I wanted to be part of films that would take my fitness to the next level. So, whether I need to work out excessively to look hefty, gain weight, or even lose it, I am game. Even though I am aware that this [fluctuation of weight] is harmful to the body, such roles are satisfying”, Khan added.
