Saina Nehwal biopic: Shraddha Kapoor to romance badminton player Eshan Naqvi?
Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor who was last seen in the horror comedy Stree is all set to wow the audience in Saina Nehwal biopic. Real life badminton player and musician Eshan Naqvi will be seen romancing the actress in the film, latest reports suggest.
Shraddha Kapoor, whose biopic on badminton player Saina Nehwal went on floors in September, has found her leading man in real life badminton player and musician Eshan Naqvi, according to a Mumbai Mirror report.
“Interestingly, Eshan has also been coaching the actress as part of her prep for the film since the past few months. “I’ve been attending badminton classes daily at 6 am. My coach, Eshan Naqvi, is a young guy but there’s so much to learn from him. He is an amazing coach”, Shraddha Kapoor was quoted as saying to the daily.
Shraddha Kapoor recently said that the ace badminton player's journey mirrors her own. The biopic, titled "Saina", will be directed by Amol Gupte, who has helmed movies such as "Stanley Ka Dabba" and "Hawa Hawaai". The film went on floors last week. The 31-year-old actor says she has been practising for the role for many months now and during the process she came to realise how hard it was for Saina to achieve her success.
"I have already clocked 40 classes of badminton in preparation for this biopic. It's a really tough sport, but I am enjoying myself. To get an insight into the life of a sportsperson is fascinating. Saina's journey itself is so interesting — right from her misses to her injuries and victories," Shraddha said in a statement.
It may be recalled that the film’s shoot has been delayed many times. However, the Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series- produced film finally went on floors on September 22, 2018. Speaking about it, Shraddha had said: “We are making lots of preparations for this film and we are doing it for a long time.”
Saina Nehwal’s 2012 Olympic bronze medal is one of the most defining moments in Indian sporting history. She won the badminton singles Commonwealth Gold for India in 2010, and then again in 2018, helped clinch the team gold in badminton for India.
