When Saif Ali Khan got together with Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan and made fun of Kangana Ranaut at IIFA, the nepotism debate sparked off like never before. Several people slammed the whole scenario and, the trio were labelled as “big Bollywood bullies”. While Varun and KJo have apologized, Saif Ali Khan, who worked with the actress in Rangoon, has now come forward to speak on the controversial debate. The actor said that he respects Kangana a lot but he has an entirely different approach to nepotism.
In an interview with a leading tabloid, the Cocktail actor said that he is aware of the hard way that Kangana Ranaut has achieved her position in the industry and has immense respect for her, according to Bollywood Hungama report.
Speaking about the IIFA Awards 2017 incident, he said whatever Karan, Varun and he did at the gala was just a joke and nothing should be read into it. The actor also expressed his disappointment over the poor script for this year’s IIFA.
Further, the 46-year-old actor also added that his take on nepotism is way different than Kangana’s. He also said that he didn’t have an easy journey in Bollywood even we had celebrity parents- Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore. Saif went on to say that he did numerous terrible movies.
The “nepotism rocks” controversy has caught everyone’s attention. While star kid Varun Dhawan took to his Twitter and posted an apology, celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar admitted they shouldn’t have mentioned Kangana’s name. Now, Saif Ali Khan has given his explanation. However, the Queen actress hasn’t opened up about the matter.
