In the box-office fight between Dangal and Baahubali 2, docudrama Sachin: A Billion Dreams has fared well in the first week of its opening.

Tendulkar’s biopic Sachin: A Billion Dreams earns 41.20 cr in first week

It has been a week that the much-awaited biopic of the year, Sachin: A Billion Dreams hit the cinemas, and created buzz amongst crazy and excited fans. The first week collection of the docudrama featuring the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar is out. The film has collected a decent Rs 41. 20 crore in the first week of its opening. Further, it is expected that the biopic will go on to earn somewhere between Rs 60-80 crore in the coming week. 

Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter handle and shared the first week collection of Sachin: A Billion Dreams. He also said that the Rs 41.20 crore figure for a genre like docudrama is immense and, goes on to show the immense love that people have for Sachin. “Although the genre [docu-drama] has its limitations, #SachinABillionDreams SAILED SMOOTHLY in Week 1”, Taran said.

Sachin: A Billion Dreams is a biographical film based on the life of legendary cricketer whom we all know as Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. The film beautifully recites the tale of a 10-year-old restless boy who grows up to give a new shape to Indian cricket. Directed by James Erskine, this movie was highly anticipated among the cricket buffs of our country.

The film has earned massive respect in the reviews and many movie critics even refused to give a star rating to the movie, owing to the greatness of the legendary cricketer’s personality. Every cricket follower, varying from a 18-year old lad to a 50 year old man were seen with tricolor-painted cheeks and jersey no. 10 in the movie halls. The huge crowd at the multiplexes on the day of its release elucidates that Sachin needs no publicity or promotions, the name in itself is enough.
