New Delhi: Rohit Khandelwal, the 26-year-old model from Hyderabad, has become the first Indian ever to win the Mr World Beauty Pageant. He has also become the first Asian to clinch the coveted title in the competition held in UK on July 19.
Speaking about his win, Rohit was quoted by the Mr World’s official website as,
"I feel so privileged and humbled to be Mr World 2016. I would like to thank all my fans and all the people who have been giving me all their blessings. It is only your love and support that has been my inspiration to win Mr World 2016. It has been an amazing journey to this point, and I cannot wait to see what happens next.”
Rohit was competing with 46 other participants and on his win he was awarded with a cash prize of 50,000$ (Rs 34 lakh approximately.)
Dressed in a tuxedo designed by Couture designer Nivedita Saboo, Rohit looked dapper. Here is the picture Rohit shared on his Instagram profile after the win.
Aged 21, Fernando Alvarez, the Mr Puerto Rico, became the first runner up of the competition, whereas Mr Mexico, Aldo Esparza Ramirez, 26, was awarded the second-runner up trophy.
The winner Rohit has acted in serials like Pyar Tune Kya Kiya , MTV Big F and Yeh Hai Aashiqui. It should not come as a surprise if we see Rohit act in movies soon.
