New Delhi: After a negative role in romantic film ‘Ek Villain’, Riteish Deshmukh will be seen breaking the good-boy stereotype which engulfs him in ‘Banjo’. The teaser of the film was rolled out today and it looks quite promising.
In the trailer, his rise from the gutter (quite literally); Riteish Deshmukh catches the eye. The teaser has a voice over by actor Abhishek Bachchan who goes on to explain why Mumbai is called the city of dreams.
Marathi filmmaker Ravi Jadhav who is helming the film, said that Banjo is about the banjo artists who never got respect for their art.
Riteish’s local boy look, will definitely strike a chord with the viewers. The makers ensured that the entry of Riteish stays grand like any Bollywood film, which is why he rose from the gutter. The shot took 2 hours to shoot in a sewer in Worli.

Speaking about the ‘dirty’ shot, Ravi revealed in one of his interviews that Riteish was game for it when he heard it, the actor had no reservations.
According to media reports, the team took extra precautions and had a doctor on the sets, just in case. They also applied oil on Riteish’s face for the grim to be removed easily.
The teaser also provided a glimpse of lead actress Nargis Fakhri; who looks stunning even in her desi avatar. Also, look out for foot tapping ‘Ganpati Bappa Moriya’ tunes in the background.
