The veteran actor Rishi Kapoor will inaugurate the 8th edition of the Jagran Film Festival in New Delhi on July 1. The actor will also participate in a few discussions during the course of the festival in a few of the 16 cities where it is organised. Kapoor's films will be presented in all cities wherever the festival travels. Some of the films to be featured are "Mera Naam Joker", "Bobby", "Amar Akbar Anthony", "Agneepath" and "Do Dooni Chaar".
"It's a matter of great pride for us that Shri Kapoor has kindly consented to be part of the Festival. We look forward to it," Basant Rathore, Senior Vice President, said about the actor's participation in the festival.
This year, the festival screens over 150 Indian and foreign films across 10 film sections till July 5, 2017 before moving on with the journey to cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Ranchi, Dehradun, Bhopal, Indore, Meerut and many others.
The journey will culminate in Mumbai during its final leg between 15-22 September 2017.
On the work front, Rishi Kapoor will be seen next in 102 Not Out. Directed by Umesh Shukla, the film features Amitabh Bachchan as a 102-year-old and Rishi as his 75-year-old son. The makers aim to wrap up the shoot by July, read a statement.102 Not Out is based on writer-director Saumya Joshi's successful Gujarati play by the same name. The film is a sweet story between a father and a son and the duo will also speak a few lines in Gujarati in the film! Amitabh and Rishi, who will be seen sharing screen space after two decades, have previously worked in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb and Kabhi Kabhie.
