One such legend was music maestro R.D. Burman.

Popularly known as Pancham Da, he was one of the legendary musicians Bollywood can ever have. He was a revolutionary composer who changed the aura of Bollywood music with his musical uniqueness.

His music had become the soul of the industry and is still enjoyed by millions.

Although it’s been over two decades since Pancham Da passed away, he continues to live in our hearts through his music.

As the world celebrates his 77th birth anniversary, we bring you five evergreen songs from his collection.

1. Pyar Hamein Kis Mod Pe Le Aya: This song is from the movie Satte Pe Satta, which released in 1982 and featured Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini. Sung by R.D Burman himself, Gulshan Bawra, Kishore Kumar and Sapan Chakraborty this song was a super hit then and  now.

2. Yamma Yamma: Yamma Yamma is the song of the movie Shaan that had Sunil Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Shashi Kapoor, Shatrugan Sinha and Rakhee Gulzar in pivotal roles. The movie was released in 1980.

3. Dil Lena Khel Hai Dildar Ka: It is a song from the 1981 movie Zamane Ko Dikhana Hai that starred Rishi Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapure, Amjad Khan, Yogeeta Bali, Kader Khan, Asrani, Tariq and Simple Kapadia.

4. Yeh Shaam Mastani: From the movie Kati Patang, this song is one evergreen song whose lyrics and music are remembered by almost all. This 1970 movie featured Rajesh Khanna and Asha Parekh.

5. Dum Maaro Dum: DMD is the song of the movie Hare Krishna Hare Rama featuring Dev Anand, Zeenat Aman and Mumtaz. Sung by Ahsa Bhosle, the song still makes it to the playlist of party albums.
