Pakistan has finally lifted the ban from screening Indian movies and Hrithik Rosahan starrer ‘Kaabil’ has become the first Bollywood film to release in the country post ban. Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan informed about the same on the social networking site. Wait! But what about the screening of Shah Rukh’s ‘Raees’ that featured Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. Well, here SRK lost the opportunity to come first.

Reports suggested that ‘Kaabil’ will hit the screens on February 3 and a week after it SRK and Mahira starrer ‘Raees’ will release on February 10.

Producer of ‘Kaabil’ Rakesh took to Twitter to confirm the screening of Hrithik’s film. He tweeted, “Yes it's true! Kaabil releasing tonight in Karachi at 11pm & shows starting tomorrow across Pakistan.”

This is good news for the makers of ‘Kaabil’ that despite having Pakistani actress on board ‘Raees’ will be releasing after a week.

Banning Hindi cinemas in Pakistan gave huge strain to cinema hall owners. Thus a special committee was formed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif which was headed by Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb. The committee uplifted the ban after analysing the benefits that Pakistani cinema trade can get from Hindi movies.

In India, both ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’ clashed at the box office. Shah Rukh’s film emerged as the clear winner and entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club. On the other hand, ‘Kaabil’ has minted Rs 85.30 crore till now.

‘Raees’ featured SRK as a gangster and Mahira played his love interest. Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam played the role of visually impaired people in ‘Kaabil’.
