How Twitter reacted to Salman Khan's acquittal in the Arms Act case

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was on Wednesday given the benefit of doubt by a court in Rajasthan's Jodhpur.

While the decision came as a huge sigh of relief for the blockbuster actor – who was earlier exonerated of charges in a drunk driving case -- Twitter did not fail to find humour in the development.

The Sultan actor was held not guilty of keeping an unlicensed weapon, and using it during an alleged deer hunt in 1998.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpuroti said that the evidence against Salman was not strong enough. And, within minutes, the 51-year-old actor was let off.

This was one of the four cases against the actor. While the Rajasthan High Court had acquitted him in two cases of poaching of chinkara, trial in the third case of alleged poaching of two blackbucks is on.

Dressed in a crisp white shirt, Salman Khan was accompanied by his doting sister Alvira in the court room.

Here are some of the funniest reactions to his acquittal:
