Actor Ranveer Singh, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Padmavati, has finally bagged a role in Kabir Khan’s sports drama 1983. The actor will be seen essaying cricketer Kapil Dev in the film which is based on India’s victory at the 1983 cricket world cup. The information was shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media. This comes as a great news for all Ranveer’s fans.
Taran took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the news. He wrote, “Ranveer Singh will turn cricketer #KapilDev in Kabir Khan's sports-based film... #1983 #WorldCup.”
Reports were doing the rounds from quite some time that actor Arjun Kapoor was being considered for the role. But, seems that Ranveer has successfully replaced his buddy in the film. Well, it goes without saying that the Befikre actor is one of the talented stars of the industry who can pull any role effortlessly.
It will be interesting to watch him in the role of a cricketer.
On a related note, Ranveer will be seen sharing the screen space with Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in Padmavati. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial venture is all set to hit the screens on December 1.
