After playing the role of the tyrant Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat, Ranveer Singh has been receiving rave reviews from all quarters for his portrayal of the role. He is certainly the man of the hour and he is living every bit of it.
Ranveer Singh has played a lover boy in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ramleela’ and ‘Befikre’, a thug in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, ‘Lootera’ and ‘Gunday’, a normal guy even in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ and a warrior in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’.
He is all set to play a rapper in ‘Gully Boy’, a fun cop in ‘Simmba’ as well as Kapil Dev in ‘83’, but the role that Ranveer imagines as his dream role is something completely unpredictable, completely opposite from these.
In an interview with a leading daily, the actor disclosed that he is waiting to play an army personnel in a film.
He was quoted as saying that is he is waiting for someone to offer him the role. He said, “I’m waiting for someone to offer me an inspiring story that makes me emotional. I will do that film right away. It will be my tribute to the men in uniform who stare down enemies and death every single day. It will be an honour for me.”
Speaking about the Indian army and the soldiers who sacrifice their lives to keep us safe, Ranveer told the leading daily, “I salute their bravery and immense sacrifice. What they do for us can’t be given enough recognition. Thank you for keeping us safe and making us feel so protected. Rather than giving them a message, I would like to give their valour and courage a personal salute. They are the real-life heroes everyone should take inspiration from.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor has started work on Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy along with Alia Bhatt. Pics from their shoot leaked a few days ago and we almost couldn’t recognise them in their unglamorous roles. While Ranveer is playing a street rapper in the film, Alia will be seen essaying the role of a Muslim girl in it.
Ranveer is also supposedly reprising Abhishek Bachchan’s role in ‘Dhoom: 4’ and will be seen in Shimit Amin’s untitled YRF project next.
