Ranveer Singh is joining hands with Golmaal director Rohit Shetty for the first time with Simmba. Also, the film marks the first collaboration of Karan Johar and Shetty. The movie is making even more noise ever since Sara Ali Khan joined the team opposite Ranveer Singh. The film is slated to release on December 28th this year. But it’s not going to be a solo release.

On Tuesday, the makers of Simmba put an end to all the speculations regarding the leading lady of the film. They announced on social media that Sara Ali Khan is going to play the female lead in the forthcoming film. Dharma Productions took to Twitter and wrote, “Sara Ali Khan in #Simmba with @RanveerOfficial directed by ROHIT SHETTY! Releasing on the 28th of December 2018 ! This winter gets hotter!”

However, this could be one of the biggest box office clashes of this year. Salman Khan’s Dabanng 3 is also expected to release on the same date. Salman Khan has two big releases in his kitty this year. He will be featuring in the third instalment of Race franchise, Race 3 and also in Dabanng 3. Race 3 will release on Eid 2018 while Dabanng 3 is scheduled for December. As per the Bollywood Life reports, the script is already in place and the pre-production process has started with full throttle. As December 21st is already booked by Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, the makers are eying on December 28th.

Now when Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty’s Simmba is announced to release on December 28th, let’s see if Salman Khan’s film gets pushed ahead to 2019 or not.
