Delay in film releases usually does not come as welcome news for the team. It is a rare sight that actors rejoice when release date gets shifted as they feel that it will kill the buzz around their hard work.
Contrary to this usual sentiment, there are two actors who are elated that their film has met with this fate of getting delayed. The actors in mention here are Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and the movie is ‘Rangoon’.
The film was initially scheduled for a September 30 release, then it got pushed to October 14 and is now scheduled for release on February 24, 2017.
Shahid and Saif see this is as a blessing in disguise. Wondering why? Well, we have the answer.
If media reports are to be believed, Shahid and Saif who will soon become fathers are happy that this delay will mean that they get to spend more time with their respective families.
While Shahid’s wife Mira Rajput is due in September, Saif’s better half and actress Kareena Kapoor Khan will give birth to her baby in December. This means that none of the would-be-dads will have to stay away from their wives.

Taking into account the fact that both these actors are thorough professionals, and Saif and Shahid would not have compromised with their work commitments to spend time with their respective families, this delay understandably comes as a relief to them.
For Shahid particularly, this delay brings more reason for joy. The release date fixed now is February 24, a day before Sasha’s birthday. Shahid is overwhelmed that this much-awaited film will release close to his better half’s birthday on February 25.
Even the film’s leading lady Kangana Ranaut is happy with the delay. She reportedly feels that February is quite lucky for her.
Confirming Kangana’s take on this delay, director Vishal Bhardwaj reportedly told media,
“When we suggested February 24 as the release date, Kangana was very excited as she is sentimentally attached to February, given the exceptional response to Tanu Weds Manu, which had released in the same period.”
