Mumbai: Actor Randeep Hooda says his sister Anjali is very good at acting, but she gave up her dreams due to the casting couch trend, and that if he ever goes behind the camera, he would love to cast her.
The actor, who will be soon seen in Omung Kumar's "Sarbjit", shared that his sister even came to Mumbai to try her luck.
"I'm now thinking that whenever I'm directing a movie or a play, I'll cast her. She is very spontaneous and good at acting," Randeep said in a statement.
The actor spoke about his elder sister, who is now a accomplished doctor, while appearing on TV show "Yaar Mera Superstar".
"Sarbjit" brings forward a sister's fight towards getting justice for her brother convicted of terrorism and sentenced to death in Pakistan. It is based on the life of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh, who strayed into Pakistan, was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and sentenced to death. He died following a brutal attack by fellow prisoners in a jail.
Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen playing Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit's sister, who suffered many difficulties in trying to get her brother released. Randeep will be seen in the title role.
The film, which was premiered at Cannes Film Festival, is slated to release on May 20 worldwide.
The actor also shared: "I and my elder sister used to stay in hostel together in Rohtak (Haryana).
Today I became an actor seeing my sister's act during plays in school. She was a very good actor and won the best actress award for the play Westside story. When she won the award, it ignited a fire inside me to be a better actor."
