Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn’s film script locked, Luv Ranjan to make action-drama not rom-com
Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn’s much talked about upcoming Bollywood film has reportedly turned into an action movie rather than the speculated romantic comedy, according to the latest reports. Helmed by Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety fame Luv Ranjan, it is said that the script of the movie is already locked, and the makers are in talks with the A-list Bollywood divas to play the female lead. While the title of the film is still not revealed, the film is said to go on floors by the end of this year and is looking forward for a Christmas 2020 release.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the genre of the film is not rom-com but high-octane action subject. The report quoted a source as saying, "Luv has been working on the script for almost two years now. The final draft of the script is locked, and the film will go on the floors by the year-end. It is mounted on a huge budget. Once the final draft of the script is locked, Luv will go on a recce. After that, he will finalize a stunt team that will be a mix of Indian and international action directors."
This will be director Luv Ranjan’s first time to helm an action film, even Ranbir Kapoor will be seen doing action for the first time with the film. The source further adds, “He (Ranbir Kapoor) will be seen performing some stylish stunts alongside Ajay. The film’s team is planning action workshops for them ahead of filming. The heroine also has a strong character.” Luv, who is also producing the film, is targetting a Christmas 2020 release. “The plan is to go on the floors by December this year and wrap it up by April 2020. As it is an action thriller, it will require prolonged post-production,” the source concluded.
Ranbir Kapoor is currently working on Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra and will start shooting for Luv Ranjan’s action film after completing Brahmastra as well as his other film Shamshera, in which he will reportedly be seen in a double role. Talking about sharing screen space with legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna in Brahmastra, the actor earlier said, "These are the actors who I admire, who I was inspired when I was an aspiring actor and now to share screen space with them and find acceptance... Amit ji gives so much of love and respect as an actor, it is amazing. It is something I aspire to be. Amit ji has been working for 49 years, he is probably the biggest superstar ever born in the world. But till today, the humility, hardwork, passion he shows, it is quite amazing and inspiring for me as a young actor."
On the other hand, Ajay Devgn was last seen in comedy-drama Total Dhamaal which worked well on the box office. He will now be seen in Taanji and the next installment of Singham franchise.
