The Baahubali star Rana Daggubati has embarked on a physical metamorphosis journey for his upcoming film The Ghazi Attack. The actor has lost tons of weight and looks leaner than ever.
Rana, who is also working for his sequel to his 2015 historic fiction Baahubali, is losing and shedding pounds consecutively to meet the requirements of his looks in the films. His role in Baahubali required him to beef up, while the actor had to acquire a lean look for Ghazi, which sees him in the role of a naval officer.
"When we started the preparations for Ghazi, we were still shooting for Bahubali, so there was a large difference in my body weight,” says the actor, who needed a month's gap between the two shooting schedules to alter his look.
“For Ghazi, I had to turn vegetarian for two months to lose the muscles. I had to stop lifting weights and turn to cardio vascular exercises. Since I'm also a licensed scuba diver, and most of the film was shot under water, my training helped me.”
In the film industry, actors have to constantly change their physique to suit the character they play. Aamir Khan did so for Dangal, as did Shah Rukh Khan for Happy New Year.
