Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has been in news for quite some time for his offensive and bold tweets. The director has given many controversial statements and tweets in the past, and yesterday a Goa-based female activist has filed a police complaint against the filmmaker for his sexist comments on the occasion of the International Women’s day. Here are five bold comments from RGV that proved that he is the favourite child of controversies.
1. The filmmaker recently posted a nasty comment on micro blogging site Twitter on International Women’s Day saying he wish that every woman should give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone. He tweeted, “I wish all the women in the world give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives.” Though Sunny, being the classy lady, took it lightly but seems that people disliked RGV’s comment. The director had to face the outrage on social media. And now case is registered against him.
2. Ram Gopal Varma called actor Tiger Shroff ‘bikini babe’. On Tiger’s birthday, RGV, in a series of tweets compared the actor with his father, and posted his picture saying that he posed like Urmila Matondkar. Tiger’s mother Ayesha Shroff, and Sonam Kapoor slammed the director for his nasty comments.
3. Previously, the director also took a dig at superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan after watching Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’. He slammed the two Khans for his choices of movies and called Aamir better than them.
4. In the past, RGV has also targeted the ‘Swachh Bharat’ advertisement saying that the advertisement was worse than ‘Aag’ adding that a suggestion should be given to PM Modi this type of advertisement will make India dirtier.
5. During the time of surgical strike, RGV targeted political party AAP, and said that it should be renamed PAAP for asking a proof of it. He lashed out at the political party to question the integrity of Army men.
6. In the past, the filmmaker has talked about his love for Sridevi in his book ‘Guns and Thighs’. He referred her as ‘Goddess of beauty’ and narrated the incident when he saw the actress making tea in Boney Kapoor’s kitchen saying that he would not forgive Boney. When Boney said that RGV has a perverted mindset, the latter made it worst by saying that the actress’ fans have more respect for her than Boney.
