The much-anticipated film of the year ‘2.0’ is all set to entertain audience next year on Diwali.
While announcing the female lead of ‘Golmaal 4’, Rohit shetty tweeted that his fourth instalment of the franchise will also get released on Diwali. Now, to avoid the clash with Rajinikanth starrer, the director has decided not to release the flick with ‘2.0’. The producer of the latter thanked Rohit on the social networking site Twitter for the same.
‘2.0’ producer Raju Mahalingam thanked Rohit for his support as he tweeted, “Rohitji, thanks for the magnanimous support given for 2.0 !!! You are Indeed a great fan of our @superstarrajini!!!”
Though, it is clear from the tweet that Rohit is the ardent fan of Rajinikanth. But, it can be considered as a smart move from Rohit’s side as box office battle with ‘2.0’ might prove harmful to his film’s business. It was being heard that ‘Golmaal 4’ would release two weeks before the said date.
However, official announcement for the same is still awaited.
The news of many big projects clashing at the box office next year is coming these days. From ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’ to ‘Crack’ and tentatively titled ‘The Ring’ many movies will lock horns in 2017.
Besides Rajinikanth, ‘2.0’ also stars Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in prominent roles. On the other hand, ‘Golmaal 4’ features the old cast of the franchise with Parineeti Chopra as the lead actress.
