Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 not only received praises but the film also performed well at the box office and crossed Rs 1500 cr mark, worldwide. The movie set benchmark for all upcoming films. It is being said that one film that can break the record of Prabhas starrer is Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0. It is somehow turning out to be true as even before its release 2.0 has broken a record set by Bahaubali 2.
If latest reports are to be believed, the Kerala theatrical rights of Akshay starrer has been sold in Rs 16 crore whereas the same for Baahubali 2 was sold for Rs 10.5 crore in the state. This means, 2.0 has already beaten Baahubali 2 record.
It is yet to be seen how 2.0 will perform at the box office. The movie is the sequel to 2010 blockbuster Robot. The latter did wonders at the box office. The official release date of 2.0 is still not decided. However, the movie which is reportedly made on the budget of Rs 400 cr, is surely going to break many records. Akshay will be seen as antagonist in the film.
On a related note, along with Prabhas, Baahubali 2 also featured Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles.
