27 April 2017 was a black day for Indian cinema as it lost legend actor Vinod Khanna to cancer on this unfortunate day. As the entire nation misses its handsome hero, son Rahul Khanna had posted an ironic picture just four days before his father’s death.
On 23 April, Rahul took to his Instagram account and shared a picture of sunset from Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. It is the same hospital where Vinod Khanna breathed his last on Thursday at 11:20 am.
The caption which read “One more sunset” was even more cryptic.
In another post, he had shared the picture of pathological passageway of the same hospital. The post was shared on April 21.
Rahul was also present at his father’s funeral which took place at Banganga Crematorium in Worli on Thursday evening.
The funeral was attended by family and several Bollywood celebs including Vinod Khanna's contemporaries such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Ranjeet.
Vinod Khanna was battling bladder cancer for months. He was known for his hunky, macho looks in films like Dayavan, Muqaddar Ka Sikander and Mere Apne.
He joined politics in 1997. He got elected from Gurdaspur on a BJP ticket in the next year's Lok Sabha poll. And during the time of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government he became Union minister for culture and tourism in 2002.
