Last evening the remixed version of yester year hit song ‘Laila Mai Laila’ for upcoming movie ‘Raees’ was released, and got many jaw-dropping reactions. Actress Sunny Leone stunned all with her sizzling avatar, and her chemistry with superstar Shah Rukh Khan was big takeaway from the song.

Owing to the hype the song had created, many thought that the song’s purpose was just to raise the glamour quotient in ‘Raees’. But co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani of the movie said the song is an important part of the narrative.

In an interview after the song released, Ritesh said that it will be wrong to call ‘Laila Mai Laila’ only an item number. He revealed director Rahul Dholakia wished to create a situation where SRK’s character Raees Alam goes to a den and takes the story forward.

“Shah Rukh goes into the den and where an old song performance will be going on and how the woman is involved in the story,” he said.

Speaking highly of Sunny, Ritesh said she looked amazing in the song.

“Sunny lived up to the expectation from the song. It was interesting to have her as she and SRK have never worked together,” Ritesh added.

Not only Ritesh, Sunny became a topic of conversation yesterday courtesy her performance. Many lauded her for doing justice to the original song that featured Zeenat Aman.

‘Raees’ is slated for a release on January 25.
