Priyanka Chopra, who is riding high on success with her Hollywood projects including Baywatch and Quantico said that she wants to produce content-driven films by providing a platform to filmmakers, who want to tell stories but do not get the desired backing.
The 34-year-old actress-producer says when she was new in the film industry, there was nobody to support her, so she understands that filmmakers need help.
"There are big personalities who produce Hindi films. I am a small producer. I thought I should support and help some films, those filmmakers who don't get a chance to give a position to their stories," Priyanka told reporters here last night.
"When I came to the industry, I didn't have the support. So, it was very difficult," she said.
The actress was speaking at a party to celebrate the National Awards won by her Marathi production venture Ventilator.
"I am very excited (about the win). This was my first production, so it gives you a lot of encouragement to back movies like these," she said.
The success bash was attended by the entire cast and crew of the film, including Ashutosh Gowariker and director Rajesh Mapuskar.
