Salman Khan-starrer Bharat is special for various reasons. Firstly, Dabanng Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar will be joining the hands again after smash hit Tiger Zinda Hai. Secondly, it will be marking the Bollywood comeback of global icon Priyanka Chopra after a gap of 2 years. PeeCee and Ali Abbas Zafar share a great rapport. They even worked together in 2014’s Gunday. The rumour mills are also churning that Batti Gul Meter Chalu actress Shraddha Kapoor will also be joining Salman-Priyanka in Bharat.
According to PTI, Shraddha Kapoor, who is busy shooting for Batti Gul Meter Chalu with Shahid Kapoor has denied the rumours. She refused to be a part of Bharat of even Shotgun Shaadi which stars Sidharth Malhotra. She said, “There are a couple of films that my name is being associated with when I haven’t even been approached. But the fact is that the only films I am working on are Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Stree and Saaho. My producers will announce if and when I sign another project. Till then please don’t believe any speculations."
Bharat will be a film chronicling India’s journey from freedom till now. The journey will be traced by Salman Khan’s character. A DNA report quotes, “Salman will sport five different looks in Bharat, which begins with him witnessing one of the most dramatic chapters of our history — the Partition. It’s an Indian adaptation of the Korean movie, Ode to My Father and will be a commercial film with a mix of action, drama and music.” . When contacted, Ali confirmed, “Since the story spans over a period of 70 years, there will be many historical references. It is essentially about a man who lives through several significant moments from India’s past to present. We are currently working on the film’s pre-production and details will be announced once we are in a position to talk about them.”
The shooting for Bharat will take place in Abu Dhabi, Spain, Punjab and Delhi. It is expected to go on floors this June. It will also be Salman Khan’s Eid offering for the next year.
