Prithviraj Sukumaran to make his directorial debut with Mohanlal’s ‘Lucifer’

After the phenomenal success of his home production ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ last year, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set to add another feather to his cap.

The actor will soon be making his directorial debut with superstar Mohanlal’s upcoming movie ‘Lucifer’.

Prithviraj took it to social networking site Facebook to make the announcement and wrote, "'Lucifer', starring The Lalettan, written by Murali Gopy, produced by Aashirvad Cinemas will be my directorial debut... COMING SOON".

Apparently, the movie was earlier being written by Gopi Jr. However, the movie was shelved following his sudden demise early this year.

But now Murali Gopy has given the story a new turn.

Superstar Mohanlal also shared the news on his Facebook page and wrote, "Here I have a big news for my million splendid audience about my upcoming project. A big budget movie from Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, which sees collaboration of two icons of Malayalam film industry behind the camera for the first time, who are also distinguished for their uniqueness”.

He also added, "Prithviraj, son of my dearest Sukumarettan, doing his directorial debut and Murali Gopy, son of our Gopiettan, penning story and script ... And the movie's name is 'Lucifer'."

According to a source in the know of things, this movie came after Antony Perumbavoor, the closest aide of Mohanlal, who now produces most of Mohanlal's films, expressed his desire to produce a film directed by Prithviraj. Things eventually fell in place.

Mohanlal was last seen on the silver screen in Priyadarshan’s directorial venture ‘Oppam’ which turned out to be a huge hit at the box office.
