New Delhi: It’s been over three months since television actress Pratyusha Banerjee committed suicide in her Goregaon flat.
While a lot has been said and written about the Pratyusha’s death, it was reported that her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh played a key role in her suicide.
After a lot of twists and allegations in the case, the Mumbai police has now finally filed a chargesheet against Rahul in the Borivali court today.
In a 1000 page chargesheet, the police has charged Rahul for abetment to suicide.
Reportedly, Singh, who is currently out on anticipatory bail, is said to appear in court on July 30 for the hearing.
Police have evidence in the form of phone call records, forensic findings, statements of around 45 witnesses including that of Rahul’s ex-girlfriend Saloni Sharma, bank statements, etc. The last call between Rahul and Pratyusha will be reportedly closely scrutinized.
Pratyusha was found hanging in her flat on April 1. Rahul was the first one to spot her hanging, after which he rushed her to Kokilaben Hospital. While the ‘Balika Vadhu’ actress was declared dead there, Rahul went absconding from the hospital. A case under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC was registered against Rahul on April 3, following a complaint lodged by the Pratyusha’s parents.
Pratyusha’s family has even alleged that Rahul used to torture the actress mentally and physically.
