Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was given the benefit of doubt today by a court in Rajasthan's Jodhpur. Dresssed in a crisp white shirt, Salman Khan was accompanied by his doting sister Alvira in the court room.
The Sultan actor was held not guilty of keeping an unlicensed weapon, and using it during an alleged deer hunt in 1998. Chief Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpuroti said that the evidence against Salman was not strong enough. And, within minutes, the 51-year-old actor was let off.
This was one of the four cases against the actor. While the Rajasthan High Court had acquitted him in two cases of poaching of chinkara, trial in the third case of alleged poaching of two blackbucks is on.
No sooner did the judge gave the verdict, Alvira who was seated in the courtroom, stood up at once, clasped both her hands on her face, and sat down in relief. â
Salman said "Thank you" to the judge and came up to his sister, and shook hands. They went on to hug each other- a tight one which lasted for about 30 seconds.
Khan and a few other Bollywood actors had been accused of poaching black bucks in October 1998, during the shooting of Hindi movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.
