Bollywood’s veteran actress Sridevi’s last rites were performed on Wednesday at Vile Parle Seva Samaj crematorium, where she was cremated with full state honours. Prior to that, a prayer meet was held at Celebrations Sports Complex where thousand of her fans and Bollywood celebs arrived to pay their last respects to the legendary actress.
Bollywood actors like Rekha, Sushmita Sen, Shahid Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Kajol, Ajay Devgn among others came to pay their homage to India's first female superstar.
Among the array of celebs was superstar Shah Rukh Khan who arrived to pay his respects to the actress who left us all too soon. Reflecting on the sudden demise of screen legend Sridevi, SRK has written an emotional and insightful post on Twitter.
SRK wrote, "How can one not just feel love & beauty & be grateful for a life that became a part of yours in some small way by making it prettier....isn't it just easier to feel love & give towards that life, even in death...the comfort of appreciation and gratitude."
For the uninitiated, Shah Rukh Khan has shared the screen space with Sridevi in the 1996 film Army. Interestingly, Sridevi shot for a special appearance in Shah Rukh's upcoming film with Aanand L Rai titled Zero. The film is slated to hit the theatres on Christmas this year and we'll get to see our beloved 'Hawa Hawai' on the silver screens once again.
On a related note, after Sridevi's funeral, her husband Boney Kapoor wrote an emotional letter for his wife. Boney shared a long heartfelt note through Sridevi’s Twitter handle after the actress’ family issued a joint statement and asked space to grieve.
