Actress Anushka Sharma’s second home production ‘Phillauri’, released last week, has collected Rs 17.27 crore till now. ‘NH10’, which was the maiden project bankrolled by the actress fetched nearly Rs 15.38 crore in four days. ‘Phillauri’ collected Rs 15.25 crore on its first weekend, surpassing the three days collection of ‘NH10’. The crime thriller had minted Rs 13.25 crore on its first weekend.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared the numbers on micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “#Phillauri takes a dip on Mon... Fri 4.02 cr, Sat 5.20 cr, Sun 6.03 cr, Mon 2.02 cr. Total: ₹ 17.27 cr. India biz.”
The film opened with Rs 4.02 crore and is doing slow but decent business at the box-office. The weekend collection of ‘Phillauri’ was more than three days collection of women centric films like ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Sarbjit’. Kangana Ranaut starrer fetched Rs 13.96 crore and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s film minted 11.27 crore over the first weekend.
Anushka’s production house Clean Slate Films has taken projects that are rich in content and innovative. ‘NH10’ also became successful due to its powerful story and now ‘Phillauri’ is also doing a decent business. Though these movies, Anushka is making her place as a young producer in the cinema world.
‘Phillauri’ stars Diljit Dosanjh along with Anushka and this can be considered as one of the reasons of film performing well in North India as the actor is very popular there.
Directed by Anshai Lal, the movie introduced a new concept of friendly ghost. Anushka played a spirit named Shashi who started haunting Suraj Sharma. Diljit played Anushka’s love interest.
