Actress Parineeti Chopra, whose last film Golmaal Again did wonders at the box office, has joined the cast of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari. The news was shared by filmmaker Karan Johar on social media.
Karan took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “The lead actress in #KESARI is ... Parineeti Chopra.”
The movie is based on the Battle of Saragarhi. Akshay, 50, started filming the project and also released his first look from the movie on January 5.
Parineeti was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s directorial venture Golmaal Again alongside Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and many actors. The movie broke the dry spell of box office and performed well.
On a related note, Akshay is gearing up for the release of Padman. The movie also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. It is all set to hit the screens on Januray 25 and will fight the box office battle with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat featuring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
