After being MIA for around 12 years, Border director JP Dutta announced Paltan in September last year. The veteran director who has given us power-packed and emotionally riveting stories centered around men at war has brought together an ensemble cast for this multi-starrer. Paltan has the 1962 Indo-China war as its backdrop.

According to the reports, the film will release on September 7. Actor Gurmeet Choudhary on Wednesday tweeted: "1967. A true story that was never told. 'Paltan', Releasing this September 7 in a cinema near you."

The makers have also released the movie’s first poster which has left us curious. The first look of the film, based on the Nathu La and Cho La military clashes of 1967 which took place along the Sikkim border, shows Indian and Chinese soldiers facing one another while pointing rifles at each other.

It seems to be one more epic war drama from Dutta, who is acclaimed for the National Award winning "Border".

Paltan’s star cast includes Arjun Rampal, Harshvardhan Rane, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Chaudhary and Siddhant Kapoor. Actresses like Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan and Dipika Kakar are also part of the film. It has been shot majorly in Leh-Ladakh and in Chandigarh. Esha was selected after the makers saw that she was really good in period dramas whether it was Rustom or Baadshaho. Dipika also wrote on Twitter that she was blessed to be part of a JP Dutta film as her debut.
