Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus and period drama Padmavati is going to hit the screens this year. Bollywood buffs will be seeing their favourite Jodi Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh together once again. But do you know that DeepVeer wasn’t the first choice for Bhansali’s Padmavati. The recent buzz says that the popular filmmaker wanted to feature Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in his movie. And surprisingly, they had said YES! But there was a catch.
But there was a condition to which Aishwarya agreed to work opposite her ex-flame, Salman Khan. According to a report in Open Magazine, Bhansali approached them a few years ago and managed to convince them as well. Aishwarya wanted Salman to play the role of antagonist Alauudin Khilji, and not her husband. As per reports, Alauddin Khilji and Rani Padmini won’t be having any scene with each other.

Salman refused the offer as he wanted to recreate the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam love-angle in this movie as well. Both of them were adamant to their conditions which led to movie slipping to Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
The film is scheduled to release on November 17 without delay. Padmavati has been making headlines , be it for vandalism of sets or Ranveer-Shahid cold war. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. For more news on Padmavati, stay tuned with us!
