After delivering hits such as Jolly LLB 2 and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar is all set to grace the big screens with Padman. The film is releasing on 25 January, the same day as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited epic drama Padmavat. However, the clash doesn’t seem to bother the makers and even Akshay said that every film has its right to release on whichever date it wants. Now, Padman makers have released a behind-the-scene video where producer Twinkle Khanna and Akshay have revealed interesting details about the film.
Titled Meet Pad Man- The Superhero, the Padman making video is gives wonderful insights about the social drama. Talking about what motivated her to take up the project, Twinkle Khanna says, “It was a man talking about something that even women shy away from. It was also about the transformation from being an uneducated man to an innovator. These things about the story gripped me and here we are now”.
Earlier this week Akshay Kumar to Twitter to share the behind the scenes banter of the trio seated in the backseat of a car. He wrote: Watch to know how well do my leading ladies @sonamakapoor and @radhika_apte know me, in our backseat confessions, act 2".
Twinkle Khanna has ventured into production with this project. The author was so inspired by the story of Arunachalam that she wrote about him in her book, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.
Padman is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low cost sanitary napkins. Apart from Akshay, the film also features Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
