Finally, Akshay Kumar’s much awaited drama biography PadMan got released today and Bollywood celebrities are going gaga over it. The R Balki’s directorial project PadMan which is produced by Twinkle Khanna also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles. Radhika is essaying the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife, who is a conservative woman.
PadMan is based on a short story from Twinkle's book The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad which was inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a Tamil Nadu-based social activist who revolutionised the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine.
Akshay received a wide support for his educative film which is based on menstrual hygiene. Filmmaker Karan Johar praising Akshay’s film wrote, ‘’#Padman is such an exceptionally intended and relevant film!
