Padmaavat features Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in pivotal roles. It also had Raza Murad, Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari in important roles. After the special screening of the film, the celebrities as well the audience couldn’t stop praising Ranveer Singh’s monstrous performance as Alauddin Khilji.

Film Padmaavat was earlier titled Padmavati, but after the suggestion of few historians and CBFC, the title was changed. The film was releasing after fighting a long and troublesome war with fringe group Rajput Karni Sena and CBFC. Six Indian states even banned the film and only allowed screening after Supreme Court intervened into the matter.

A petition has also been filed in  the Supreme Court seeking action against Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana for disobeying the court orders on Padmaavat. The court has earlier asked the states to release the movie and also to ensure law and order in the state ahead of its release. Another petition has been filed to seek legal action against the Rajput Karni Sena.
