Padmaavat has been absolutely unstoppable at the box office, ever since it hit the screens on January 25, after several hurdles. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, which crossed the Rs 200-crore mark in its second weekend, has become the highest-grossing film of Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor as well as the filmmaker. Now, the period drama has crossed the coveted Rs 300 crore mark in 50 days.
Shahid Kapoor, who essayed the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh, shared a poster and wrote, “Celebrating 50 days of the magic of #Padmaavat! @filmpadmaavat @ranveersingh @deepikapadukone @aditiraohydari @viacom18motionpictures #BhansaliProductions @tseries.official.”
“For me, it is the success of womanhood in so many different ways. The film is also a celebration of the fact that this is the most expensive Indian film ever been made with a female protagonist. I view that as a victory. Not just for myself but for women in films,” Deepika said in an interview previously while talking about the film’s success.
The dynamic trio of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have once again displayed their magic at the box office. All their three films including Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat have done wonders at the domestic box office.
In Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone plays the lead role of Rani Padmini. Shahid Kapoor essays the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh portrays Alauddin Khilji, the 13th Century ruler of the Khilji Dynasty.
