Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat hit the cinemas on 25 January amid hindrance from religious bodies such as Karni Sena. The film starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor is doing great business at the box-office. On the 18th day of its opening, Padmaavat (earlier titled as Padmavati) has crossed the coveted 250 crore mark. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the official box-office collection of Padmaavat.

On the world wide box-office front, the magnum opus has grossed Rs 330 crore (nett. Rs 253.80 crore) in India and 167 crore in the international markets. It now stands with the total business of 497 crore at the global box office and will cross the Rs 500 crore mark today.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat has been in limelight right from the first day. Various religious group alleged distortion of historical facts. After lots of struggle, the film was released and now it has shattered the box office. It has become highest grossers for Ranveer and Shahid.
In Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone plays the lead role of Rani Padmini. Shahid Kapoor essays the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh portrays Alauddin Khilji, the 13th Century ruler of the Khilji Dynasty.
