Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat is performing wonderfully at the box office. The film that received humongous response on its opening day, has finally entered the coveted Rs 100 cr club. Yes, according to figures by boxofficeindia, the movie minted Rs 30 crore on Sunday making its overall collection more Rs 100 cr. It is a great news for all the fans as despite protests, the movie is garnering love.

Earlier, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to micro-blogging site Twitter, “#Padmaavat continues to SPARKLE... Biz on Sat [after a big holiday on Fri] was EXCEPTIONAL... Will comfortably cross ₹ 100 cr mark today [Sun]… Wed [limited preview shows] 5 cr, Thu 19 cr, Fri 32 cr, Sat 27 cr. Total: ₹ 83 cr. India biz.”

The numbers are expected to grow in coming days. The film featured talented actors like Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. The stars are heaped with praises for their spectacular performances.

Padmaavat has been mired in controversies right from day one with various religious groups alleging that Bhansali has distorted historical facts. After the long battle, the movie finally released. Earlier, it was scheduled to clash with Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man but after SLB requested Khiladi Kumar, the release date of the latter was shifted to February 9.
