Bollywood filmmakers Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor’s latest project Laila Majnu has already stirred a storm on the internet with the trailer and the song Aahista. Fans were still not over Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi’s voice in the first song that the makers have released the second song O Meri Laila from the movie. It won’t be wrong to say that the song is the perfect ode to Kashmir and has already become everyone’s current favourite.
Featuring the soulful voices of Atif Aslam and Jyotika Tangri, the song captures picturesque views of Kashmir. Lead pair Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dimri add magic to the beautiful view with their sparkling chemistry. The song has been shot in the same house in Kashmir where Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rockstar was shot. There is no denying that director Imtiaz Ali knows how to capture the beauty of Kashmir in every single frame.
Ekta Kapoor also took to Twitter to share the song and captioned it as, “From the longing to the anticipation to the excitement: The wait for this song has been an exhilarating ride! Here's #OMeriLaila”
Talking about how 'Laila Majnu' doesn't have the elements of a typical love story which makes a successful romantic film at the box office, Imtiaz said, "When you are set to make a love story, then there are certain elements which are necessary to make a successful film. In this film, there is no chocolate pudding and floss.
The movie is set in Kashmir and story revolves around Kais (Avinash Tiwary) and Laila (Tripti Dimri) whose journey of love is filled with insurmountable obstacles.
Based on the classic story of Laila Majnu, this contemporary take on the tale has been penned by Imtiaz. The film is directed by Sajid Ali and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Pi Films. It will hit the screens on September 7, 2018.
