Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and actor Ranbir Kapoor teamed up and gave a wonderful film Rockstar. The actor was praised for his acting and he won many prestigious awards for playing the role of Janardhan Jhakar. The film also marks the debut of actress Nargis Fakhri. But, do you know, these two actors were not the first choice for Rockstar. Yes, Imtiaz Ali was keen to cast John Abraham and telly actress Saumya Tandon as the lead pair.

As Imtiaz’s Jab We Met recently completed 10 years, Saumya, who made her Bollywood debut with it, revealed to a leading entertainment portal that she met the director when he was supposed to make Rockstar with John. She added that Imtiaz was looking for the female lead and that’s how she met him. Later, she met him for Jab We Met and the lady was skeptical about the fact that she first met Imtiaz for the lead and was then meeting him for a small role.

Saumya stated that when she was told the script of Jab We Met, she really liked and said yes to it.

Well, Rockstar was a wonderful film and it is hard for people to imagine anyone other than Ranbir as the lead. But, there is no denying that if John was selected as the lead, he would have treated the character differently.
